The lay public is notorious for mispronunciation of medical terms. Some of them are down right hilarious. Some of them are cute. Some of them are annoying. The prostate vs prostrate debate is probably one of the most commonly mispronounced medical words out there. I've taken care of many a folk with prostrate cancer. I don't have the heart to explain to patients the difference between prostrate cancer vs prostate cancer. While prostate cancer has many therapy options, there is no cure for prostrate cancer.
