What is the best hospitalized patient in the Universe? There are many ways to define what makes an enjoyable patient experience for doctors or nurses. Patients who are angry, confrontational, pushy or time consuming can bring great stress to hospital workers. Patients who are peaceful, agreeable, and understand the constant battle doctors and nurses experience in the race against the clock are considered great hospitalized patients. Sometimes the disease process itself can define good vs bad patients and that may change from doctor to doctor or nurse to nurse. Some doctors may find nausea and vomiting intolerable while others may find pain issues difficult to handle. However, most doctors and nurses will agree, some characteristics are universal for making patients the best patients in the hospital to care for.
