Mrs Happy and I went to a trade show the other day for pet lovers and we took Marty and Cooper along for the fun and games. Something about trade shows that bring out the special people, like this truck we saw at the gun show we saw a few months ago with PTSD truck decals and truck balls. We got to meet multiple foster Iggys at the Italian greyhound rescue booth. I also took this video below of a dog exercising on a treadmill. The owner of the canine treadmill was a business woman who's mission was to keep pets fit. I must admit, I have a problem with her business model. First of all, if the pet owner has super morbid obesity, their pet is at risk of becoming the fattest dog ever. Calories in equals calories out. If you devour more energy than you expend, you will gain weight whether you are a dog or a human.
People who don't exercise won't care if their pet is fat or not and will probably not take the time to drive them down to a pet boutique for Fido to walk on a treadmill. The people who make exercise a part of their daily routine and wish to have their dog fit and trim as well will take their dog for walks every day they possibly can. So who's gonna pay money to see their dog running on a treadmill? The only possible folks I can think of are the ones who can't stand to exercise themselves, but still feel compassion enough to get their dog some exercise. I don't presume that population is too great.
