Some People Have Too Many Titles and Letters Behind Their Name

I get lets of email at The Happy Hospitalist.  There are a lot of medical people out there with agents trying to sell their books and services.  I'll usually take a peek and see if it's anything of interest before deleting them en mass.   The following portion of an email caught my attention and was worth mentioning here,  not because the content was worth while (which it never is) but because the lady calling herself an expert found it necessary to plug multiple titles behind her name.  Some people just have too many titles and letters behind their name.
Sharon Lastname, MS, RN, CRNI, FACW, FAAN is available for an interview to discuss the new recommended intake of both vitamin D and calcium.
My experience is this:  The more titles you have the less helpful you are, especially when no one knows what the letters and titles mean.   The same goes for doctors and nurses.  Here is how I approach doctor colleagues with lots of titles behind their name, presented in classic medical someecard style.  I am Happy Hospitalist, MD.  That's it.

someecards.com - The more titles you display behind your name doctor, the harder it is for me to take you seriously. Seriously.
