Disney Gingerbread Carousel Making Video (and Pictures) Beach Club Resort 2010

Mrs Happy and I just returned from Happy's family Christmas gathering of 2010 at Disney's Yacht Club Resort.  Right next door was the famous Beach Club spinning gingerbread carousel.    Here are two videos and several pictures  of this incredible gingerbread carousel at Disney's Beach Club resort on the Boardwalk.  It's edible (if you like to eat the sealant they probably use to keep it together)  and it spins just like a real carousel.

How long does it take to make the carousel?  This gingerbread carousel at Disney's Beach Club takes 10 hours to make.  Here's another video of the special chefs making the 10 hour journey, condensed into 15 seconds.

This gingerbread carousel can be found in the lobby area of the Beach Club resort.  It's quite a sight to see. And the smell was incredible too.  According to the official Disney website, once a day a guest is chosen to take a picture with chef Stefan Riemer in front of the gingerbread carousel, along with receiving a special gingerbread shingle.

What are  the ingredients of this giant gingerbread carousel?  Here's a picture of the ingredients in edible form and the list of ingredients below.

As you can see, this giant gingerbread carousel was made with:
  • 30 pounds of honey
  • 96 pounds of bread flour
  • 100 pints of eggs
  • 10 pounds of spices
  • 10 quarts of simple syrup
  • 150 pounds of icing
  • 50 pounds of dark chocolate
  • 50 pounds of modeling chocolate
  • 200 gum paste flowers
  • 2010 pieces of gingerbread
  • 11 hidden Mickey's (I don't think that apostrophe is supposed to be there)
  • Micky, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, and Pluto join the gingerbread carousel as well.
There you have it folks.  I still have a few unanswered questions.
  • How many calories in the gingerbread carousel at Disney's Beach Club Resort?
  • What happens to the gingerbread carousel at Disney's Beach Club Resort after the Christmas holiday?
I looked all over the Internet and couldn't find an answer to those questions. Maybe some Disney experts could answer those questions for me.
