Picking Up Dog Poop and No Where To Put It? Problem Solved!

Mrs Happy just can't let it go. Some dog owners would let their pooch crap on a neighbor's sidewalk without blinking an eye. Mrs Happy on the other hand would crawl over a bee hive if  it meant picking up dog poop left behind by our  Marty and Cooper.  Marty and Cooper are little dogs and what they produce is tiny compared to full sized pooches.  But she's diligent none the less about being a responsible pet owner.  I'm somewhere in between. If the dog poop is off the path in an untraveled area, I'm probably not picking it up.  It's no different than rabbit poop.     If there is any chance it will get stepped on, then I'm picking up the feces left by my dog.  A year ago I asked that our neighborhood association install trash cans along our walking path so that responsible pet owners like ourselves had a place  to dispose of the goods. It's been a year and still nothing.

So every time we take Marty and Cooper for a walk, we are picking up dog poop and carrying it several miles home. Sometimes we get lucky and walk them during trash pickup day. So we just drop the poop baggie into a stranger's trash bin waiting to be emptied.  Granted, it's not the greatest solution in the world, but it's better than none.   The other day we were driving home with our Marty and Cooper when we decided to stop and take them for a walk on a trail.  After picking up their stool, we realized there was nowhere to dispose of it.   We certainly could have just left it out in the snow, but that's not what responsible pet owners do.

Well, what do you do with the dog poop once it's time to get in the car?  Do you bring it in with you and stink up your interior?  Do you just chuck the bag and the poop back into the wild?  If you're Mrs Happy, you tie the poop bag to the back hitch of your SUV and you carry it home to your garbage can.  I'm not quite sure what the folks driving behind us thought as we worked our way back through our neighborhood. Perhaps the poop baggie looked like a cheap version of truck nuts.    If you ever find yourself picking up dog poop with no where to put it for the ride home, your problem has now been solved.  Just tie the dog poop to your bumper and off you go.

But what do you do if you don't have a car but rather a jogging stroller?  You follow the lead of the car!  I snapped this picture below during a friendly afternoon jog but having no where to take the dog poop home.    Now that we have baby Zachary, our equipment has changed, but the method remains the same!   One baby.  Two dogs.  Two poops. Forget this hospitalist stuff.   I'm thinking about maybe customizing some  accessory side hooks for the B.O.B jogging stroller and selling them on Amazon as an after-market dog poop disposal system for all the jogging moms and dads out there.  Any questions?
