Had a similar patient in rehab. Mr. D was an ex-special ops. guy in his early 80's. He was rehabbing a very bad Rotator cuff repair. He was that had his own benchmarks. He knew he was done when he could fire a few rounds at the firing range. He was the nicest guy ever who had killed people with his bare hands.
By the way, he injured himself "demonstrating" a submission hold on a "smart alec" at the shooting range who was 50 years his junior who was "breaking the rules".
