Hospital Food From Around The World (Picture)

Once again proving that you can make a web page about anything, including hospital food from around the world.
Here's a free night shift snack I had the other day. A ham salad sandwich.  Not my favorite, but it's all that was there. What do you eat on your night shift?

5 Outbursts:

  1. I usually have the kitchen make me an omelet, and mix up the veggies just to be sure it has been loitering too long...

  2. A dozen saltine crackers, a cup of broth, and a glass of water. 100 calories.

  3. That looks pretty good. The pre-wrapped sandwiches in my hospital are always turkey with the bread smashed by plastic wrap.

I find that ice water and a protein mix are helpful without giving a lot of gas and mucus stool, which often happens if I eat in the middle of the night.

  4. YEARS ago, in training, the hospital kept one small room open off the cafetreia after midnight.

This was the peanut butter palace.

10 lb tubs of peanut butter, loaves of bread, assorted jams and jellies. Without it, the interns, residents, med students and all the other staff would fade into a hypoglycemic fog before dawn.

I daresay the powers-that-be have no idea how much that service meant to us all.

  5. That looks tasty, and provides job security for the Cardio surg. team
