For the rest of the world, two things are certain: Death and Taxes. The only thing certain in America are taxes.

Your last observation is hilarious; did you make that up?
ReplyDeleteyes
ReplyDeleteIatrogenic deaths are number killer.
ReplyDeleteInteresting that the #1cause is "Heart Disease" when much of that is likely due to iatrogenic causes, as is #s 4-10 & possibly even cancer, #3...
ReplyDeleteDamn medicine kills a lotta people!
When can I get off this pharma-driven death machine? Once they mess you up with one thing, it's damage for life... We should just legalize ALL medications/drugs for OTC use, including surgeries, make them free for everyone, make the labeling & research leading to that labeling stricter than it is now, ban drug commercials altogether & just see ow many people over time realize we've ALL been brainwashed into the so-called, "SAFETY" of all these medications.
Maybe then medicine might actually be used in a non-harmful way... Nah though! Would never happen! FAR too many people's wallets being hosed & doctors "treating" what some of them believe to be "safely" or as safely as possible.
Safer to never use any medications at all, and FAR safer to avoid medications with a plausible deniability, or that are much like your own body's chemicals - cortisone & corticosteroids are the #1 killer world-wide, and we were taught to believe it was harmless & like the cortisol in our bodies?
Who fell for that one & sold it to our doctors & nurses? They don't even read the dangers on the package inserts any more!
I literally had a nurse in a hospital tell me that I couldn't be allergic to, or have an adverse reaction to, a corticosteroid last week! She was either at the bottom of her class or our health care providers fail to read anything anymore & take the medically uneducated, financially conflicted drug rep's word for it that these drugs are safe!
Now to try to find a medication that will undo the damage that one did! :sigh:
Ever read a package insert for a drug like Kenalog? Seems to me their are less side effects & deaths from street drugs! ;)
I never in a million years would have thought I'd advocate for use of "natural" OTC marijuana or opiod medicines, but after this horrific experience I had, which could have killed me & left me in FAR more pain, I think the FDA should leave natural, purified morphine & the like as an OTC drug. Those stupid enough to abuse it can die & the gene pool would be a bit cleaner for it! Darn good tax revenue in the mean time as well. It might just pull us out of the recession!
