It's Time To Bail Out Big Oil

Where's the lack of outcry for big oil? Why isn't Obama slamming his fist down demanding money be given to Exon to save them as he was for the consumer ready to take Exon's money via a distribution of wealth.  Oil is in a free fall. The Exons and Chevrons can't possibly survive without a government intervention.

All this talk about taxing their windfall profits? Gone? Why? Why now?   Shall we now demand that they get subsidized with tax payer money.  Why not?  Shouldn't it work both ways.

Is the government now going to tell all business what is an appropriate profit margin for them to achieve.  What business is it of theirs?

All the talk bout windfall taxes on big oil to give $1000 energy rebates to consumers is government at its worst. At what point do you let business do their thing. The massive recession in our head wind was entirely preventable had the government not demanded homeownership for those unable to manage their finances.  A false economy built on flawed government intervention.  And now the government intervenes to fix their mess.

One mess after another.  Morons.

Oil is down because the market says it's down. Get out of the way and let the right price be determined by the worlds population.

3 Outbursts:

  1. I completely disagree with this bs post.

The only reason I am replying is b/c I think you have errored and put up some wrong graph.

It has "summary grid for 2 north" at the top and looks like a screen shot from work

  2. Yes, just the same way we should let the all-wise housing market dictate that suburbs should turn into slums. No need for government intervention there either, Dr. Galt.

BTW, that is an insanely cute puppy picture today. They are beautiful little dogs.

  3. Government: A system by which otherwise useless people are employed to waste the income of productive citizens on projects designed to make bad situations worse so that the next generation of politicians can get jobs by promising to fix them.

The most amazing part is that most people are too busy producing the income that sustains the government to see how much that same government throws away like garbage.

Japan. In the 90s. We're doing all the same (wrong) things and somehow expecting different results.
