Thanksgiving Hospital Meal

Nothing like a home cooked cafeteria meal on Thanksgiving. A free offering from Happy's Hospital for all employees and physicians working on this day of thanks. I think I got most of the food groups in there somewhere.

7 Outbursts:

  1. Wow. Nice salad. I got three slabs of turkey, prefab mashed taters, Stove Top, and cranberry from the can here at the hospital. I had "real" dinner Sunday night with my husband and sister-in-law. I'm hankering for some sweet potatoes right now. Happy Thanksgiving, Happy!

  6. I don't miss the days of holiday food in the hospital. I remember working one Easter Sunday and they had turkey tetrazzini on the menu. Blech.
One year I worked Christmas day in the MICU. I decided that we would not have hospital food. I cooked a turkey the day before, made several side dishes and delegated others to colleagues.
The cooks in dietary were kind enough to heat up the turkey for us.
ALl of us working in the MICU including the on-call team had a fabulous meal. I still remember Larry, a 5' 2" tall intern, who ate more food than I could imagine. (this was way before the 80 hr work restrictions). I think it literally was the best meal he'd eaten in weeks.
Hope you aren't on duty Christmas day too.
