In the spirit of debate on payment vs reimbursement
I have banned Concierge from my vocabulary and replaced it with
S.O.M.E. care
Service
Oriented
Medical
Experience
If you want a happy doctor and a happy patient, get S.O.M.E. care
If you want a patient centered experience, get S.O.M.E. care
If you want an experience where both patient and physician are aligned on the same side of the fence. Get S.O.M.E. care
I can see it now:
S.O.M.E. Where.
S.O.M.E. One Cares.
Now, who wants to pay me for that slogan?
Any other ideas?

1 Outbursts:
You are correct that S.O.M.E. is the perfect alignment of patient and doctor. Patient pays for service, availability and expertise with global fee--Dr. provides it. It works for those who can do it but it is not the solution for Health care in the U.S. It covers primary care...period. Prepaid, complete coverage healthcare is called HMO...and we know where that has lead us. Not a service oriented medical experience.
So S.O.M.E. is a valuable nitch but will touch only a small portion of doctors and patients.
